Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

An opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The role focuses on developing and verifying high‑integrity airborne real‑time systems, covering the full software lifecycle from requirements through testing and implementation on target computers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and verify embedded software according to aerospace standards (requirements, design, coding, verification, configuration, documentation, change management).
• Collaborate with product/program managers, system engineers and validation teams to drive software delivery.
• Participate in project planning, scope definition and support product owners to meet schedule and quality targets.
• Lead design and architectural decisions and mentor team members to ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong expertise in real‑time software development and verification.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Ada for low‑level development.
• Experience with real‑time operating systems such as VxWorks or Linux‑RT.
• Familiarity with DO‑178B/C certification processes.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
