Environment, Health & Safety Manager – Basque Country

About the role

Olleco Bunge is looking for an experienced Environment, Health and Safety (SHEQ) Manager to join its team in the Basque Country or Andalucia. The role will support the delivery of a comprehensive health, safety, environmental and ISCC service across the business, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the Spain SHEQ strategy and chair the monthly SHEQ Board.
• Produce and analyse monthly SHEQ reports, identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Implement, maintain and continuously improve SHEQ management systems in line with ISO standards, ISCC requirements and legal obligations.
• Plan and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and readiness for third‑party certification.
• Lead accident and near‑miss investigations, delivering root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Promote safe working practices, challenge unsafe behaviours and ensure prompt reporting of hazards.
• Deliver SHEQ training across all levels and support continuous improvement of safety culture.
• Liaise with regulators, external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective SHEQ communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health, safety, environmental and sustainability management, preferably within the food or industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of applicable legislation and standards (ISO, ISCC, local regulations).
• Ability to work collaboratively with local management and a wider SHEQ team.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Familiarity with ISCC certification requirements.
• Experience conducting internal and external audits.
• Ability to lead accident and near‑miss investigations.
• Proficiency in preparing and analysing SHEQ performance reports.
