Equipment Project Engineer (VIE) – Algeciras

About the role

CMA Terminals is seeking a junior Equipment Project Engineer on a VIE assignment to support the delivery and commissioning of new container‑handling equipment at the TTIA Algeciras terminal in Spain. You will work closely with the local technical team, equipment manufacturers and third‑party inspectors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of Automated Stacking Cranes, Straddle Carriers and Ship‑to‑Shore Cranes.
• Conduct design reviews with manufacturers and end users.
• Coordinate third‑party inspection and supervise contractor maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans and improvement projects for the equipment fleet.
• Perform audits of maintenance performance and introduce best‑practice guidelines.
• Provide training for operators and maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical and structural engineering.
• High energy, assertiveness and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a multicultural environment.
