Equipment Project Engineer (VIE) – Algeciras

About the role

CMA Terminals is seeking a junior Equipment Project Engineer on a VIE contract to support the technical team at the TTIA Algeciras container terminal in Spain. You will be involved in the delivery, commissioning and transition to maintenance of new container‑handling equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise delivery of Automated Stacking Cranes, Straddle Carriers and Ship‑to‑Shore Cranes.
• Conduct design reviews with manufacturers and end‑users.
• Coordinate third‑party inspections and oversee construction, testing, shipment and commissioning.
• Lead final acceptance, operator training and maintenance plan implementation.
• Drive improvement projects for existing equipment fleet and audit maintenance performance.
• Support contractor maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety and port regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical and structural engineering.
• High energy, assertiveness and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Team player who can work autonomously.
