Fabrication Site Manager – Steel Structures and Blocks

About the role

The Fabrication Site Manager will act as the Project Representative at a steel structure and block fabrication yard in Cádiz, overseeing all fabrication activities for offshore energy projects. The role ensures safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met while promoting a strong HSE culture.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate fabrication of heavy steel structures, blocks, and offshore components.
• Monitor daily production progress and verify compliance with fabrication schedules.
• Coordinate activities between the fabricator and project engineering, planning, quality, and construction teams.
• Identify deviations in schedule, productivity, quality or resources and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee cutting, fit‑up, welding, assembly, surface treatment and transportation preparation processes.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, fabrication procedures and contractual requirements.
• Support inspection activities, non‑destructive testing (NDT) and certification processes.
• Manage non‑conformities, rework activities and corrective action plans.
• Prepare progress reports and updates for project management.
• Promote HSE culture across all fabrication activities and participate in coordination meetings.
• Supervise preparation of structures for load‑out, transportation and final delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years experience in heavy steel structure fabrication.
• Experience in offshore, oil & gas, offshore wind, shipbuilding or large‑scale industrial projects.
• Proven ability to manage international fabricators and subcontractors.
• Practical knowledge of large‑capacity fabrication yards and modular construction.
• Fluent English; Italian or Spanish considered an advantage.
