Field Service Engineer Apprentice

About the role

GE HealthCare, a global medical technology and digital solutions company, is hiring a Field Service Engineer Apprentice. The apprentice observes and performs equipment service processes and procedures to drive customer satisfaction and ensure the proper functioning of less complex equipment. This is a 12-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective customer relations, with minimal supervision as assigned.
• Follow GE policies, hospital protocols and procedures, and complete the required documentation.
• Maintain daily contact with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up.
• Assist more experienced technicians and FSEs on basic and complex repairs and resolutions.
• Work as part of the local team to deliver efficient service across the assigned area, documenting actions and submitting reports and summaries on schedule.
• Keep up to date with current standards, codes and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.

Required profile

• Engineering vocational training or university degree (biomedicine, telecommunications, electronics, industrial).
• Proven experience in a compliance environment, following codes and procedures for safe device operation.
• Previous experience developing and maintaining good customer relations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally outside the assigned region and a valid driving licence.
• Spanish and English, spoken and written.
• Previous hospital experience is desired.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic documentation using a PDA and computer skills.
• Analytical and communication skills, able to explain technical issues simply to customers.
