Field Service Technician - Electrical Repairs

About the role

ABB is hiring a Service Repair Technician for its Electrification Service Area in Villanueva de Gállego, Zaragoza. The role reports to the Service Team Leader and works under the supervision of the Service Workshop Manager and the daily direction of the Team Lead. It is an onsite position supporting data centre clients and the service team.

Key responsibilities

• Repair a variety of breakers and subassemblies, delivering cost-effective problem resolution and helping identify and resolve quality and reliability issues.
• Carry out workshop tasks such as troubleshooting, repairs, assembly and testing.
• Execute workshop orders according to workshop processes and guidelines, aiming for first-time-right results.
• Check bills of materials and other documents to ensure parts, materials and equipment are available.
• Complete, process and maintain all required documentation.
• Identify improvements in the way of working and drive small improvement actions.
• Follow safety rules and environmental responsibilities, and report unsafe practices and incidents.

Required profile

• Intermediate or higher vocational training (FP) in Electricity, Electronics, Electromechanics or similar.
• 2 years of experience as an electrical technician in a similar role; good electrical and mechanical capabilities are valued.
• Team player with good social skills, able to work autonomously and resiliently.
• Basic written English, especially for handling technical documentation.
• Office skills (Windows, Office suite, diagnostic tools) and a driver's licence.
