Financial Accountant, Iberia

About the role

Santen, a global eye‑health company, is seeking a Financial Accountant to support accounting, financial planning, and analysis for its Iberian business. You will work closely with the Finance Senior Manager to ensure accurate financial results and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly closing activities and produce timely, accurate financial reports.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations each month.
• Develop financial analyses and supporting schedules for internal use and audits.
• Maintain local statutory ledgers in line with high‑quality standards.
• Partner with the Finance Senior Manager to uphold efficient, compliant accounting processes and strong internal controls.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses and collaborate with tax advisors on GAAP technical position papers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cluster financial analysis.
• Liaise with external accounting service providers to ensure accurate P&L and balance‑sheet control.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting support and analysis as requested.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• 3‑4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and controlling, able to oversee monthly P&L and balance‑sheet activities.
• High proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent communication skills.
• Proactive, organized approach to deadlines, priorities, and process improvements.
