Financial Controller – EU (Remote‑first)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting and accounting for our European entities. The role combines hands‑on accounting, team leadership and strategic partnership in a fast‑growing, international organization operating remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for financial control, accounting operations and reporting across European entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes, including consolidation and alignment with group reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with BE GAAP and local regulations, coordinate audits and manage external auditor relationships.
• Manage and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, bank), driving operational efficiency and ownership.
• Partner with controlling teams to align financial reporting, forecasting and business performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as standardisation, automation and optimisation of financial processes and controls.
• Contribute to ERP implementation (Oracle NetSuite), supporting system setup, process design and data quality.
• Support post‑merger integration by harmonising financial processes across European entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 8‑10+ years of experience in accounting or controlling within international, multi‑entity environments.
• Proven expertise in multi‑entity structures, financial consolidation and end‑to‑end accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of BE GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Belgian and Dutch regulatory environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Experience in project‑driven organisations, revenue recognition and complex financial operations.
