About the role
ALS Geochemistry is looking for a Fire Assay Weigher for its Fire Assay section at its Malaga facility. Fire Assay is a process used to analyse precious metals in mineral samples. This is a casual position with fortnightly rotating shifts, including day, afternoon and night shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Work safely in the laboratory, including chemical handling
- Weigh samples according to various methods
- Develop an understanding of laboratory practice and scientific processes
- Check and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and precise results
- Work in a team
Required profile
- Ability to follow set procedures and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts, under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a hot, manual-intensive environment
- Flexibility and reliability to meet the high demands of the section
- Citizen or permanent resident of the country of application, or able to obtain a valid working visa
