Global Head of Security Detection & Response

About the role

ING Hubs Spain is seeking a Global Head of Security Detection & Response (SDR) to lead one of the most critical cybersecurity capabilities within the bank’s Global CISO organization. You will shape the future of threat detection and response, leveraging AI, machine learning and advanced monitoring to protect ING, its customers and its reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the Global Cyber Security strategy into an SDR strategy and roadmap, driving execution and transparent progress reporting.
• Ensure the effectiveness, resilience and continuous evolution of SDR services, processes and capabilities to address emerging threats, regulatory requirements and technology trends.
• Lead a global organization of Product Owners, Process Managers and Service Managers, fostering a high‑performing culture through talent development and coaching.
• Act as Chief Product Owner for global SDR services, driving adoption, standardisation and value realisation across ING.
• Promote an agile, collaborative operating model that encourages cross‑functional alignment, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage strategic partners and third‑party providers, ensuring performance, regulatory compliance, audit readiness and measurable business value.
• Own the SDR portfolio, budget and investment priorities, allocating resources effectively to reduce cyber risk.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, global cybersecurity or detection teams.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate security strategy into operational roadmaps.
• Demonstrated capability to embed security into business and technology strategies.
• Excellent leadership, talent development and stakeholder management skills.
