Global Ocean Freight Category Lead

About the role

ARBEX is hiring a Global Ocean Freight Category Lead in Madrid, Spain, within its supply chain organisation. The role focuses on winning with consumers and the market while placing safety, mutual respect and human dignity at the centre. Key responsibilities

• Own the sourcing strategy and execution for ocean freight and international transportation services at global level
• Lead supplier negotiations, contracting and commercial terms to deliver cost, cash and supply-continuity targets
• Build category cost models, market intelligence and should-cost analysis to inform sourcing decisions
• Manage supplier relationships and performance (scorecards, business reviews, risk mitigation)
• Negotiate global carrier contracts, rates and capacity commitments, and run annual and seasonal tender cycles
• Monitor freight-market dynamics and manage cost and capacity risk with supply chain and finance

Required profile

• Preferably 8+ years of strategic sourcing / category management experience
• Ocean freight / international logistics category experience
• Strong knowledge of carrier markets and rate structures
• Ability to work in a global matrix organisation
• Fluent English
• Only local candidates already authorised to work in the country are considered; relocation support is not provided

Required skills

• Strong negotiation, analytical and cost-modelling skills
• Contract management experience
