Head of Primary

About the role

The British School of Almería is looking for a Head of Primary, a senior leader who reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team. The role supports the Head of School in making the school a School of Choice and an Employer of Choice, and is accountable for the outcomes in each component below and for the ongoing development of the school and learning improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Safeguarding and wellbeing: keep students and adults safe physically and mentally, remove barriers and personalise learning, and foster an open, inclusive culture.
• Culture building: model the school's shared ideas, support staff professional and personal development, and celebrate individual achievements.
• Leadership and development: lead with vision, empathy and integrity, recruit, develop and retain talent, and coach and mentor middle leaders.
• Learning and embedding quality: focus on the quality of learning, support the ISP Learning Improvement Process, and use evidence to set targets and action steps.
• Partnership with ISP: work with the Regional Director of Learning and the regional team, and build collaborative relationships with colleagues in other ISP schools.
• Partnership with parents, carers and the wider community: build two-way communication with families, represent the school to vendors, regulators and the community, and contribute to admissions storytelling.
• Communication and admissions: tell the school's story clearly, and help use parent feedback and NPS data to shape future plans.
