High Fidelity Aircraft Design Simulation Internship

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space in Spain for a six‑month, part‑time internship focused on high‑fidelity simulation for overall aircraft design. You will work on a Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG) that integrates CFD approaches into the aircraft design toolchain.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate different CFD methods, including GPU‑accelerated computations, into the aircraft design workflow.
• Set up and run complex aerodynamic simulations using both in‑house and commercial software such as ANSYS Fluent.
• Support the development of optimization processes that use high‑fidelity CFD results to guide aircraft design.
• Collaborate with the Flight Physics Technology group to test and validate simulation technologies.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of an Aerospace Engineering degree.
• English proficiency at least B2 (C1 desirable) and Spanish at least B1.
• Knowledge of overall aircraft design, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and programming.
• Analytical, problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in an international team.
