Hostess – Buffet Entrance

About the role

The Hostess at Barceló Costa Ballena will welcome guests at the buffet entrance, ensuring a smooth and pleasant start to their dining experience. Working closely with the floor and kitchen teams, you will manage seating, queues and special dietary needs while maintaining the hotel’s high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and check guests’ eligibility for buffet service in a friendly and professional manner.
• Control access according to capacity limits, shift schedules and opening hours.
• Organise table allocation to optimise space and prevent crowding.
• Monitor and manage queues, keeping the area orderly and the guest experience positive.
• Provide information on buffet operation, opening times and rules, answering guest questions.
• Communicate constantly with the dining room and kitchen staff to track table availability and service flow.
• Identify and handle allergy or intolerance requests, inform guests about allergens and coordinate safe alternatives with the kitchen.
• Report any incidents or service issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and ability to represent a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple guests simultaneously.
• Basic knowledge of food allergens and willingness to follow safety procedures.
