HR Generalist – Madrid (Spanish Office)

About the role

Gunvor is seeking an HR Generalist to serve as the primary HR contact for its Spanish office. Based in Madrid, you will partner with managers across the corporate site and two additional locations in Northern and Southern Spain, delivering end‑to‑end HR services throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR support for onboarding, training, performance management, employee engagement and payroll for the EMEA region.
• Collaborate with the EMEA HR team, Reward and HRIS teams, and external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Maintain internal communication channels such as the local HR intranet.
• Back‑up the HR Operations Specialist and other EMEA HR Generalists as needed.
• Manage relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and external service providers.
• Participate in regional and global HR initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of HR experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish employment legislation and regulations.
• Proven ability to anticipate issues, solve problems and improve efficiency.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building trust with employees.
