Industrial Assembly Engineer – Future Programs & Manufacturing Technologies

About the role

An Industrial Assembly Engineer will join Airbus' Future Programmes & Manufacturing Technologies team in Getafe, Madrid. The role bridges innovative aircraft concepts with industrial reality, ensuring structural assembly lines are robust, digitalised, and ready for future production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and industrial architects to integrate high‑quality, stable, cost‑effective assembly and inspection solutions into aircraft designs.
• Evolve low‑TRL technologies to full industrial maturity, ensuring robustness for shop‑floor operations.
• Develop and align the Technology Route Map for structural assembly (tooling, drilling, fastening, metrology) with plants and final assembly lines.
• Lead and support industrial R&D projects, acting as the bridge between central R&D organisations and plant operations.
• Standardise technical specifications for structural assembly and provide expert input to multi‑functional teams, especially procurement.
• Serve as the technical focal point for complex industrial challenges and disseminate best practices across the Airbus network.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, structural assembly or industrial R&T environments.
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong technical vision and ability to bridge innovation and execution in multi‑functional teams.
