Internship: Real-Time Filtering for Photogrammetry (TFG)

About the role

Airbus offers a curricular practicum internship for students in their final year of an engineering degree, based in Getafe. The student prepares a final year training project (TFG) that completes their official studies, with a 6-month internship from February to July 2026, part-time (5 hours per day, 25 hours per week, 8h-13h), under the supervision of a tutor. The project is carried out at the Flight and Integration Test Centre, which takes Airbus designs from virtual concept to complex reality.

Key responsibilities

• Study the state of the art and develop a prototype that generates synthetic data for machine learning training and simulation.
• Generate external aircraft synthetic data and avionics symbology synthetic data.
• Integrate the solution with Airbus simulation tools.
• Implement the requested functionalities: automatic aircraft/symbology labelling, 3D mesh terrain reconstruction, ground satellite images, physics-based sky, geo-typical 3D buildings, weather, camera lens, and cockpit display symbology.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (final year).
• Fluent English and Spanish (C1); other languages are a plus.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, team spirit and excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment.
• Proactive attitude, able to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Software development skills.
• Proficiency in Python, or a similar language (C++ desirable).
• CAD 3D and 3D simulation.
• Computer vision techniques.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine or a similar engine.
