Investment Operations Associate Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Operations Associate Director to join the global Investment Administration & Accounting (IAA) function in Barcelona, supporting private debt and alternative investment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end processing, posting and clearing of private debt transactions.
• Oversee income payments, capital calls, distributions and lifecycle events for private market assets.
• Ensure accurate month‑end closing for private debt and alternative investment products.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of private asset holdings and related cash accounts.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for private markets operations, supporting system enhancements and client‑specific requirements.
• Collaborate with investment teams, custodians and third‑party administrators to resolve complex operational issues.
• Lead automation and digitalisation initiatives for illiquid assets.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, or high school diploma with 7‑10+ years of investment operations experience.
• Demonstrated experience with private debt asset classes and alternative investment products.
• Strong analytical mindset, proactive problem‑solving and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage relationships with internal stakeholders, asset managers and custodians.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP Treasury modules (FSCM, FAM, TRM).
• Experience in automation, digitalisation and process standardisation across regions.
• Ability to handle complex operational workflows and support private markets operations.
