Java Backend Developer – Spring Boot (Mid‑Level)

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to join our agile team in Marchamalo, Spain. You will help design, develop and maintain robust backend services that power both internal and external applications for our automotive coating solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement and evolve RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front‑end applications and other systems.
• Maintain existing services, ensuring performance, reliability and long‑term maintainability.
• Write clean, testable code and create unit, integration and component tests.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to define clear API contracts and smooth data flows.
• Participate in planning, refinement, code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Share responsibility for operations, monitoring and troubleshooting in a DevOps‑oriented environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience building production‑grade Java backend applications.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Spring Boot (3.x) and core Spring modules.
• Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate, SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
• Experience with microservice architectures, containerisation (Docker) and basic Kubernetes knowledge.
