Jigs & Tools Engineer – Illescas Plant (A350)

About the role

The Jigs & Tools Engineer will work at Airbus' Illescas plant supporting the A350 program. You will design, specify and industrialise jigs and tools that enable safe, efficient production of composite aerostructures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specify jigs and tools according to requirements from manufacturing, engineering, safety, ergonomics, maintenance and quality teams.
• Support finance by preparing CapEx/OpEx dossiers and contribute to purchasing activities.
• Lead the industrialisation process, from creation to final acceptance and hand‑over to operations.
• Integrate solutions within the industrial system using defined KPIs and acceptance procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D to introduce mature technologies, including 3D‑printed tooling concepts.
• Incorporate maintenance feedback into work specifications and provide technical disposition for non‑conformities.
• Support plant activities wherever a jig or tool is involved and participate in root‑cause analysis and improvement projects.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience with manufacturing technologies for composite aerostructures.
• Proven background in designing and delivering tooling for composite materials, preferably carbon‑fiber.
• Experience in tooling for aircraft component assembly.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Project‑management experience with external suppliers (minimum 3 years).
