Kitchen Assistant – Hotel Arts Barcelona

About the role

The Hotel Arts Barcelona is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to support its Food & Beverage operations. Working under the supervision of chefs, you will help ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing and measuring.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of work stations, tools, knives and kitchen areas, following sanitation protocols.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and ensure compliance with safety and security policies.
• Set‑up and break‑down stations, store food properly, and assist with inventory as needed.
• Communicate clearly with team members and support a positive work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures and maintain professional appearance.
