L1 Desktop & Network Support Engineer (Backfill)

About the role

Brainotechs is looking for proactive, customer‑focused L1 Desktop & Network Support Engineers to join our team in Spain on a backfill basis. You will provide onsite IT infrastructure support at customer locations, handling desktop issues, basic network troubleshooting, and hardware activities while collaborating with remote support teams to meet SLA targets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver desktop support for Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Active Directory.
• Troubleshoot networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN, switches, routers, and Wi‑Fi.
• Perform hardware break/fix, diagnostics, IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Delete) and peripheral support.
• Execute rack & stack, cable patching, port activation, cable tracing, and hardware installations.
• Coordinate with remote teams via ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira to ensure timely incident resolution.
• Maintain IT asset documentation and adhere to SLA requirements.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in Desktop Support or Field IT Support.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites and adapt to on‑call schedules.

Required skills

• Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Outlook.
• Active Directory basics.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN, switches, routers, Wi‑Fi.
• Desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting and peripheral support.
• Hardware installation, diagnostics, break/fix, IMACD activities.
• Rack & stack, cable patching, port activation, cable tracing.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira.
• Experience with Dell, HP, Lenovo, Cisco equipment.
• IT asset management and documentation.
• Optional certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, ITIL Foundation, CCNA.
