Lead Consultant - Evidence Synthesis

About the role

ICON Insights, Evidence & Value - Health Economics & Epidemiology, a division of ICON plc, is looking for a Lead Consultant, Systematic Reviews/Evidence Synthesis. The role is home or office based and involves supporting the team in project delivery and business development for the growing Evidence Synthesis business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and quality check evidence synthesis and analytical projects for clients, including indirect treatment comparisons, network meta-analysis and survival/statistical analyses, within time and budget.
• Provide strategic and technical expertise to clients and internally, covering deterministic and Bayesian network meta-analyses.
• Support HTA submissions and develop study designs, analytic plans and qualitative analysis plans, and write reports and document outlines fit for client submission.
• Manage projects against internal timelines and budgets, and lead project teams, identifying staff resources and giving direction and feedback.
• Support business development, including drafting and modifying proposals for client ideas or RFPs, and leading BD opportunities.
• Mentor and coach junior staff, and may have formal line management.

Required profile

• PhD or MSc in Statistics.
• 8+ years of experience in evidence synthesis.
• Significant experience in consulting, academia or the pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
• Proven management experience, especially leading a team of junior analysts.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Statistical packages for evidence synthesis such as WinBugs/OpenBugs and R.
• Deterministic and Bayesian network meta-analysis.
