Lead Game Designer (PC/Console/Mobile)

About the role

Gameloft, creator of Asphalt, Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat and over 200 other games, is hiring a Lead Game Designer for its cross-platform PC and console expansion. The role defines and executes the game vision, directs tone, gameplay and meta structure, and leads the design team toward a cohesive AA experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the game vision together with studio stakeholders and game team leads, focusing on innovation and a thriving AA experience.
• Direct the tone, gameplay and meta structure of the game and lead the design team to a cohesive experience.
• Coordinate with level design teams so mechanics and progression work together.
• Anticipate and mitigate threats to quality and innovation.
• Build collaborative relationships with Art, UI, Tech, Online, Data, Audio, Production and Human Resources.
• Allocate and plan resources and roadmap with managers and producers.
• Take part in recruiting game designers.

Required profile

• 6+ years of game design experience, including lead or principal GD positions.
• At least two released titles as lead, principal or senior game designer.
• Proven experience in 3Cs and gameplay systems design of PC/Console action genres (sports, racing, combat, shooters, open world).
• Fluent English.
• Bonus: racing and/or action games, multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile), premium and F2P/GaaS experience.

Required skills

• Prototyping with Unity or Unreal.
• Meta-game and progression systems, balancing, UI/UX, level design and narrative.
• Tools such as Jira, Confluence and Figma.
• Communication and leadership skills.
