Legal Counsel – Motion Business (Spain)

About the role

ABB is seeking a Business‑focused Legal Counsel to support the Motion Business Area and the Renewable Power Business Line in Spain. Reporting to the Division General Counsel, Motion High Power, you will help ensure legal compliance and risk management for products, services, and projects delivered locally and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Legal & Integrity advisory to business stakeholders, aligning actions with corporate policies and ethical standards.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts throughout their lifecycle, identifying and mitigating legal and contractual risks.
• Monitor legal affairs, including integrity, intellectual property, and litigation, in coordination with the Division General Counsel.
• Support strategic transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct and global/local policies, delivering training and guidance on L&I topics.
• Collaborate with Country Corporate Counsel and cross‑functional teams to foster effective multicultural teamwork.

Required profile

• Spanish law degree (Grado en Derecho) and qualification as “Abogado”.
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience in a recognized law firm or multinational company.
• Strong understanding of complex cross‑border contractual setups for system deliveries.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
