Legal Counsel (Paternity Leave Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to provide temporary coverage during paternity leave. The role involves supporting a multinational manufacturing/automotive business with a broad range of legal matters, ensuring compliance and protecting the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and agreements such as NDAs, sales, purchase, dealer and after‑sales agreements, and memoranda.
• Maintain and update contract templates to improve contract management processes.
• Participate in qualification reviews of potential business partners, including dealer qualification and compliance checks.
• Provide legal support on regulatory compliance issues, including trade compliance, data protection, merger filings, international sanctions and anti‑bribery.
• Offer HR‑related legal advice, handle employee disputes and advise on labour law matters.
• Select, manage and supervise external counsel to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective legal services.
• Conduct legal analysis and advise on dispute resolution and quality‑claim matters.
• Collaborate closely with operations and project teams to support transactions and other assigned legal tasks.

Required profile

• Law degree.
• Admission to the local market or equivalent qualification is a plus.
• 3‑7 years post‑qualification experience in corporate law and dispute resolution, preferably in a multinational manufacturing or automotive environment.
• Excellent oral and written English and Spanish.
• Mature, proactive personality with high integrity, self‑motivation and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
