Legal Officer – Regulatory & Digital Contracts

About the role

BNP Paribas is seeking a Legal Officer to protect its digital and contractual environment within the South Europe Technologies (S.ET Iberia) hub. You will work closely with business units to translate complex regulations into practical actions, ensuring privacy‑by‑design and robust contract management for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess legal risks arising from contracts, data‑privacy and cybersecurity activities.
• Monitor relevant legislation (GDPR, anti‑corruption, sector‑specific rules) and issue timely alerts.
• Draft, review and improve electronic contracting processes, including e‑signature and authentication standards.
• Provide legal support throughout product design, project lifecycles and digital‑IP initiatives, delivering training as needed.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and the Spanish Data Protection Authority to resolve inspections and breaches.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B, J.D. or equivalent) with an active licence to practise in Spain.
• Minimum 1 year experience in commercial contract law, preferably in a multinational or tech‑focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, data‑protection and sector‑specific regulations.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and English communication skills; French is a plus.
• Ability to balance commercial goals with risk mitigation and to lead cross‑functional training.

Required skills

• Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
