Legal Officer – Regulatory & Digital Contracts

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Officer specialized in regulatory and digital contract matters to join the South Europe Technologies (S.ET Iberia) team of BNP Paribas Personal Finance. The role will protect the bank’s digital ecosystem, ensure compliance with data‑privacy and cybersecurity regulations, and translate legal requirements into practical solutions for product and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks related to contracts, data‑privacy and cybersecurity activities.
• Monitor legislative developments (GDPR, anti‑corruption, sector‑specific rules) and issue timely alerts to business units.
• Draft, review and improve electronic contracting processes, including e‑signature and authentication standards.
• Provide legal support throughout product design, project lifecycles and digital‑IP initiatives, delivering training as needed.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and the Spanish Data Protection Authority to manage inspections and breach resolutions.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B, J.D. or equivalent) with an active licence to practise in Spain.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial contract law, preferably in a multinational or technology‑focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, data‑protection and relevant sector regulations.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and English communication skills; French is a plus.
• Ability to balance commercial objectives with risk mitigation and to lead cross‑functional training.

Required skills

• Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
