Localization Language Lead – French

About the role

2K is looking for a seasoned French Localization Language Lead to shape the linguistic direction of its game portfolio. This individual contributor will act as the primary French language authority, ensuring cultural authenticity and high‑quality localized content across all titles.

Key responsibilities

• Own the French localization strategy, quality standards and final sign‑off for all 2K games.
• Review and edit in‑game text, UI, scripts and voice‑over assets for tone, clarity, fluency and cultural relevance.
• Develop, maintain and enforce glossaries, style guides and cultural policies for the French market.
• Collaborate with localization producers, QA, marketing, publishing and development teams to align language decisions.
• Serve as the escalation point for French‑related bugs, tone disputes or QA challenges.
• Supervise and provide feedback to entry‑ and mid‑level linguists or external vendors.
• Advise studios on French age‑rating requirements, terminology usage and visual‑language compliance.
• Lead voice‑over casting, script review and creative sessions for French audio production.
• Audit builds for consistency, cultural resonance and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Deep linguistic and cultural expertise in French, preferably with experience in video‑game localization.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex, cross‑functional projects.
• Strong communication skills to partner with developers, QA, publishing and marketing stakeholders.
• Leadership experience supervising linguists or vendors.
• Familiarity with French age‑rating guidelines and voice‑over production processes.
