Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist will manage international trade documentation, coordinate shipments, and ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements across Europe and China. This role works closely with internal teams and external logistics partners to guarantee timely and cost‑effective delivery of heavy machinery and spare parts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage transit documentation for machines and spare parts, including Letters of Credit (LC) terms.
• Handle Duty and VAT payments for imports from China, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Stay updated on import declarations and transport regulations in Spain and Portugal.
• Provide end‑to‑end cargo monitoring (import, export, local) and maintain real‑time tracking reports.
• Liaise with China export team, product lines, and logistics providers to optimise delivery timelines.
• Coordinate directly with shipping lines, ports, brokers, and haulage companies for on‑time delivery.
• Collaborate with the EU Logistics Team for cross‑regional and intra‑subsidiary movements.
• Negotiate shipping quotations, balancing cost efficiency with service commitments.
• Ensure shipments meet strict logistics compliance standards, including carbon emission reporting and CBAM requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import/export and heavy‑machinery transportation.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field.
• Highly organised with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English communication.
