Lower Limb Arthroplasty / Reconstruction Surgeon

About the role

The Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic Ltd. (FAOC) is seeking a full‑time orthopaedic surgeon specialised in lower‑limb arthroplasty and reconstruction to join its multidisciplinary team in Port of Spain.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with degenerative joint disease, complex deformities and post‑traumatic conditions of the hip, knee and other lower‑extremity joints.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, order and interpret imaging, ECG, nerve‑conduction and biomechanical studies.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, perform hip and knee replacement, revision and deformity‑correction surgeries, and integrate advanced techniques such as PRP therapy.
• Provide peri‑operative and post‑operative care, including rehabilitation planning, complication management and long‑term follow‑up.
• Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists and other surgical specialists to optimise functional recovery.
• Participate in continuous quality‑improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Advanced clinical and surgical expertise in orthopaedics with a focus on lower‑limb arthroplasty and reconstruction.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation and peri‑operative management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and adoption of innovative treatments.
