Maintenance All Rounder

About the role

ALS Geochemistry is looking for a hands-on, adaptable Maintenance All Rounder to join its maintenance team in Malaga. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this full-time position suits someone who enjoys practical work and tackles a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a laboratory setting. The role covers building projects beyond carpentry or construction, and includes on-the-job training in routine laboratory equipment maintenance while complying with ALS HSE policies.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a variety of building projects and general maintenance tasks in a laboratory environment
• Liaise promptly with other maintenance team members, section supervisors and Facilities Management about equipment issues or downtime
• Expand skills in the maintenance and repair of on-site equipment

Required profile

• Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs or building projects
• Carpentry and/or joinery experience highly regarded
• Ability to read drawings, carry out small repairs and complete minor building tasks such as cutting timber, installing shelving and hanging doors
• Current C class manual driver's licence
• Flexibility for occasional overtime or weekend work
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, strong work ethic and proven ability to handle a diverse workload
• Eligible to work in Spain (citizen or permanent resident, or valid working visa)

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude highly advantageous
• Knowledge or experience in other trades such as welding, plumbing, tiling, painting or demolition is highly regarded
• Desire to learn is welcome
• Strong communication skills
