Maintenance Engineer - Industrial Maintenance Team

About the role

A Maintenance Engineer position is open within Airbus Operations in Illescas (Toledo), joining the Industrial Maintenance Team of the central industrial infrastructure department. The team guarantees maximum availability, safety and operational excellence across manufacturing assets supporting critical aerospace programs, and the role involves optimizing asset performance, applying European compliance standards (EN 15628:2014-10) and driving continuous improvement and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure industrial KPIs (Technical Availability, MTBF, MTTR) while keeping daily contact with internal customers.
• Create and optimize maintenance plans and manage spare parts inventory efficiency.
• Manage and optimize maintenance budgets, and monitor and control external service suppliers and their performance KPIs.
• Manage end-to-end projects related to maintenance, continuous improvement and sustainability.
• Take part in new asset acquisitions, including creating technical specifications and evaluating technical offers.
• Ensure compliance with EN 15628:2014-10 for maintenance personnel qualification in line with Airbus' central strategy.

Required profile

• Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering degree or a related discipline.
• Experience in industrial asset maintenance, vendor control and asset lifecycle management in complex manufacturing environments.
• Advanced level in English.
• High adaptability to new topics, new business areas and collaborative teamwork.
• Valued: experience in automotive or aerospace manufacturing.

Required skills

• PLC and CNC programming knowledge.
• Knowledge and practical experience in industrial asset safety.
