Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our hotel’s engineering team in San Sebastian. You will be the first point of contact for guest repair requests and ensure the property’s facilities run smoothly through preventive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment on shift.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved procedures.
• Repair or replace HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and vehicle components.
• Program televisions, replace light bulbs and A/C filters, and perform general housekeeping‑related duties.
• Prepare surfaces, paint, perform minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Use engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management and MEP system monitoring.
• Conduct mid‑level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act as Engineer on Duty when required.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Proficiency in at least one technical discipline and solid knowledge of hand and power‑tool safety.
• Basic competence in PVC and copper pipe repair, including soldering.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, toilets, drains and electrical fixtures.
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout safety procedures and engineering computer programs.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality and adherence to safety policies.
