Maintenance Technician

About the role

Trouw Nutrition, a global leader in feed specialties, premixes and nutritional services for the animal nutrition industry, is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Griñon. The technician works in a production or technical department, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical installations and equipment such as production machinery, rotating equipment, transport systems, buildings and facilities. The aim is to prevent malfunctions and keep the production process running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and assess handling equipment, pneumatic and mechanical/electrical installations, reception and silo installations, grinding, mixing and pressing lines, bag filling, feed and fertilizer, bulk loading and weighbridges against maintenance schedules and checklists.
• Restore defects found during inspections and carry out corrective maintenance, reporting potential flaws with their nature and severity and proposing solutions.
• Order spare parts and materials, and carry out planned maintenance, sometimes supervising third-party technicians.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment, machinery, measuring and control systems, assess causes and perform emergency repairs, disassembly and repairs in consultation with the supervisor.
• Carry out more extensive repairs and modifications based on work orders, and propose improvements to equipment and machinery.
• Consult with management on quality and technical issues, and order components to be made from drawings.
• Perform welding, lathe and plate work and machining where required.
• Log all maintenance activities in the maintenance management system and file technical data.
• Work in line with safety regulations and procedures (work permits, LoTo) and report unsafe situations.
