Manufacturing Engineer – Harness/Electrical/Electronics for Spacecraft AIT

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Harness/Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to support spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities in Getafe, Spain. The role focuses on delivering a cost‑optimized, time‑efficient harness manufacturing and integration process that complies with Airbus standards and space industry requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and optimise manufacturing and integration processes for electrical harnesses, including build sequences, lead times, resources and industrial constraints.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure design feasibility and compatibility with industrial systems.
• Prepare and maintain Manufacturing Dossiers, procedures, work orders, BOMs, test documentation and standard selection lists.
• Provide technical support to production and AIT teams during breadboard, qualification and flight model execution, including on‑site support at customer or launch sites.
• Drive continuous improvement, analyse manufacturing technologies, and contribute to SQCDP panels, schedule reviews and capability deployment.
• Support industrial planning, cost estimation, line balancing and CapEx planning for new products and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a production environment, preferably with space products or electrical/electronic manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering, harness manufacturing and aerospace standards such as ECSS, ESCC and MIL.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of CATIA Electrical, Excel VBA, Google Apps Script, Windchill, SAP or other ERP systems is valued.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to work off‑site on short notice.
