Materials Planning Team Leader

About the role

Essity is looking for a Materials Planning Team Leader to join its Professional Hygiene Supply Planning Organization, based in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona), Spain. Reporting to the Supply Planning Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Materials Planners who ensure material availability across the network while optimizing service levels, inventory and cost performance. The role sits within an international, collaborative environment and supports the company's Supply Planning transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Materials Planners through coaching, regular performance discussions and continuous development, fostering a strong planning culture
• Ensure effective execution of planning activities so products are available across the network, optimizing inventory, service performance and working capital
• Act as a key link between the Supply Planning Hub and internal and external stakeholders, providing visibility on planning activities and supporting decision-making
• Monitor planning KPIs, run root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement, addressing risks and bottlenecks proactively
• Support the adoption of digital tools, standardized processes and new ways of working, collaborating with the Planning Excellence network

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in Supply Planning, Materials Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Management or related supply chain functions
• Previous experience leading people or demonstrated ability to manage and develop others
• Fluent in English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Root cause analysis, exception management and sound decision-making in fast-moving environments
• Advanced Excel, reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI
• SAP planning solutions (APO, IBP, S/4HANA) or equivalent supply chain planning systems
• Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management
