Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Energiot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its product and R&D team in Barcelona. You will be responsible for the mechanical design of IoT devices used to monitor electrical networks, delivering parts, tooling, prototypes and manufacturable solutions for field‑deployed products.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or CATIA.
• Perform simulations and calculations to assess stresses, tolerances and kinematics.
• Select appropriate components (screws, motors, bearings, profiles) considering cost and regulations.
• Define optimal manufacturing processes for each development phase, including sheet‑metal, machining and 3D printing.
• Produce technical documentation such as manuals, bills of materials (BOMs) and manage project revisions.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware and product teams to turn concepts into market‑ready solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on mechanical product design and development experience.
• Advanced vocational training or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing Design or a related field.
• Proven experience in real‑world manufacturing, tooling design and sheet‑metal, machining or additive manufacturing.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
