Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Bioherent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design the mechanical and automation features of its photonic biosensors. You will lead process development and design activities to turn prototypes into commercial products in a fast‑moving, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and automation systems for photonic biosensor products.
• Lead process development and design activities to create commercial‑grade versions.
• Translate product requirements into detailed mechanical specifications.
• Validate and test prototypes against technical requirements.
• Generate clear technical documentation for product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a compatible technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical product development and design.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and machine design principles.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Experience converting product requirements into mechanical specifications.
• Ability to validate and test prototypes against technical requirements.
• Skill in producing technical documentation in a product development environment.
• Familiarity with R&D processes in engineering.
• Basic knowledge of automation process design and control.
• Basic understanding of electronics, optics, and programming in C/C++ (Arduino, ATMEL).
• Scripting skills in Python or MATLAB.
