Methods & Tools Software Developer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

An opportunity for a Methods & Tools Software Developer Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Data Processing and Analysis Development group within the Ground Station Team, part of the Flight and Integration Test Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software tools used by Test Centre Analysis Teams to process and analyze test data.
• Collaborate closely with specialized Test Analysis groups to translate complex mathematical models into functional, efficient software tools.
• Shape the future technology stack for Analysis Tools by guiding the migration and integration of the current toolset into the new Time Series Analysis Tool Platform for Military (TSASM).
• Act as the main technical point of contact between the Ground Station Team and the Spanish Analysis Community, facilitating constant communication and specialized tool support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on scientific computing.
• Advanced level of English (written and spoken); Spanish capability is desirable for local coordination.

Required skills

• MATLAB for scientific applications.
• Python with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Jupyter ecosystem.
• Version control with Git; CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Nexus.
• Agile tools including Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of compiled languages such as Fortran 77/90 and C++ (or willingness to learn).
