Methods & Tools Software Developer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Methods & Tools Software Developer Engineer in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate joins the Data Processing and Analysis Development group within the Ground Station Team of the Flight and Integration Test Centre. The role develops, optimises and maintains the software ecosystem used by Test and System Specialists to analyse test data across Airbus Defence & Space programmes (A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, Eurofighter, SIRTAP, Eurodrone), acting as a bridge between the Analysis Community in Spain and the Ground Station team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain software tools used by Test Centre Analysis Teams to process and analyse test data.
• Work with Test Analysis groups to turn complex mathematical models into functional, efficient software tools.
• Guide the migration and integration of the current toolset into the new Time Series Analysis Tool Platform for Military (TSASM).
• Act as the main technical contact between the Ground Station Team and the Spanish Analysis Community, providing tool support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field with a focus on scientific computing.
• Advanced English (written and spoken); Spanish is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex software concepts to non-software engineers and vice versa.

Required skills

• Strong programming in MATLAB for scientific applications.
• Proficiency in Python and its data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, Jupyter).
• CI/CD tools (Git mandatory, Jenkins and Nexus desirable) and Agile methods (Jira, Confluence).
• Nice to have: experience with Fortran 77/90 or C++ and familiarity with SimPy or Numba.
