Mission Analyst (Space Sector)

About the role

We are looking for a Mission Analyst to join a leading satellite technology company in Madrid. The role sits at the intersection of mission analysis and software development, supporting both internal projects and customer‑facing solutions for next‑generation space missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design trajectories, size propulsion systems and plan spacecraft manoeuvres.
• Develop, test and validate simulation models and software tools for flight dynamics and mission design.
• Maintain and improve an in‑house mission analysis platform.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers using company tools, collaborating with senior engineers.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and work with engineering and operations teams to ensure mission success.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems or Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in the space sector with exposure to mission analysis and software development.
• Fluent professional English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Strong Python programming, including NumPy, SciPy and API integration.
• Experience with mission analysis tools such as GMAT, STK, Orekit or FreeFlyer.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices: OOP, testing methodologies and version control (GitHub).
• Familiarity with additional languages (Julia, MATLAB, C++) and cloud/CI‑CD environments (Docker, AWS).
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and spacecraft subsystems (propulsion, ADCS, power, communications, thermal).
