People Specialist – HR Operations (Spain)

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a People Specialist to join its Western European HR team and support a seamless, high‑quality employee experience in Spain. You will work closely with employees, people leaders and key stakeholders to deliver People & Capability programs and improve local HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support employee lifecycle activities in Spain, ensuring smooth, compliant and positive experiences for employees and managers.
• Deliver local People initiatives across engagement, rewards, training, onboarding and operations, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing workplace.
• Partner with Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Legal and other functions to ensure accurate, timely and employee‑focused People processes.
• Prepare, review and maintain employment‑related documentation in line with company policies and Spanish legal requirements.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing confidential advice on day‑to‑day People matters.
• Build cross‑functional relationships to anticipate needs, resolve issues and deliver effective People support.
• Use reporting and analytics to track People metrics, identify trends and support data‑informed decisions for the Spain population.
• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify and improve People processes, enhancing efficiency and employee experience.
• Contribute to local culture, engagement, volunteering and Employee Resource Group initiatives.
• Assist with local employee matters, divisional workstreams and special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Solid experience in HR, People Operations or a related field.
