Permanent Part-Time Research Nurse (Oncology, Data Entry) - Madrid

About the role

Syneos Health, through its Illingworth Research Group, is recruiting a permanent part-time research nurse based in Madrid. The role covers day-to-day running of oncology clinical trials, including data entry, subject visits and medication administration, and works closely with the research nurse project manager, site staff and the principal investigator.

Key responsibilities

• Be fully conversant with the trial protocol, CRFs/eCRFs, off-site manuals, supporting documents, procedures and timelines, including all relevant SOPs.
• Communicate effectively with the research nurse project manager, research nurse manager, site staff and the principal investigator.
• Maintain accurate documentation and electronic data transfer in line with SOPs, ensuring subject confidentiality and compliance with GCP and data protection requirements.
• Attend Site Initiation Visits and other meetings, including multi-disciplinary, project management and client-facing ones.
• Coordinate and complete on- and off-site subject trial visits, ensuring procedures and assessments follow the protocol and SOPs and data is collected accurately.
• Administer trial medication as per the protocol and ensure safe storage, transfer and accountability of trial medication.
• Process and safely package and dispatch samples, liaising with couriers.
• Assist in identifying eligible patients and supporting patient recruitment and care.
• Report adverse events, serious adverse events and SUSARs to the site team and the research nurse project manager, and report suspected misconduct or fraud.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
• Research and clinical trials experience with GCP certification.
• Knowledge of research design and methodology desirable.
• Experience in clinical nursing skills such as venepuncture and ECG preferable.
• Ability to work autonomously in a team within a multidisciplinary environment, with excellent verbal and written communication and task prioritisation.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of computer software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a minimum.
