Planner / Scheduler – Data Centre Construction Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is hiring a Planner / Scheduler for data centre construction projects in Barcelona. The role covers advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis, which may involve a single major project or several smaller ones. It requires a thorough understanding of planning and scheduling techniques, risk analysis and risk management, and support of project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project planning and scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both company and contractor roles and expectations.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) with the Project Lead, Project Cost Engineer and contractor project controls leads, and with Project Execution Plans.
• Prepare staffing, engineering and construction progress reports, and customised reports.
• Perform probabilistic analysis on integrated and contractor schedules, and carry out critical path and schedule risk analysis.
• Analyse deviations from the baseline in the Project Master schedule, highlight bottlenecks and delays, and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to the monthly project report and prepare resourcing plans for each phase, recommending peak leveling.
• Analyse the schedule impact of variances and change orders.

Required profile

• Expertise in project controls and time/schedule management, preferably in data centres, life sciences / pharma or related sectors.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build good working relationships with the project team.
• Drive to inject value and create solutions.

Required skills

• Project scheduling tools, with Primavera P6 preferred.
• Ability to consolidate multiple schedule inputs and performance data into a master schedule and deliver project/program status reports.
