Plant Controller – Motion Division

About the role

The Plant Controller will join Exide Technologies' Motion division in Zaragoza, reporting to the Manager Controlling Operations Motion and dotted‑line to the Plant Manager. The role provides accurate financial information to support management decisions, ensures proper accounting and financial procedures, and acts as a strategic business partner for finance and controlling matters.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse facility results, deviations, and KPI performance.
• Monitor working capital in the production area and R&D projects.
• Calculate product costs and monitor expenses.
• Prepare and follow up CAPEX, coordinating with Treasury for special‑term supplier payments.
• Analyse investment projects, control pending projects and fixed assets.
• Participate in month‑end accruals, financial closing and production cost analysis.
• Create accounting schemes for production and manage budgeting for conversion and fixed costs.
• Ensure forecast accuracy, timely report delivery and controlling reports.
• Collaborate with the SSC for invoice posting and accounting.
• Produce manufacturing monthly reports and manage inventory.
• Coordinate financial aspects of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and excellence programmes.
• Oversee stock‑take management for raw materials, semi‑finished and finished products, as well as fixed assets.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plant or manufacturing controlling.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and financial closing.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and provide strategic financial insight.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes.
