PR Manager – Expansion Markets

About the role

Monzo is looking for an experienced PR professional to lead public‑relations and communications for its expansion markets across Europe. Based in Barcelona or Madrid, you will help shape the brand narrative as Monzo enters new territories, working closely with product, marketing and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the PR press office in Spain and other European markets.
• Execute go‑to‑market PR strategies for new product launches and business initiatives.
• Develop and localise proactive PR stories that resonate with both SME and consumer audiences.
• Handle reactive media inquiries and manage crisis communications when needed.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to uncover and amplify high‑impact PR opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in PR or communications, preferably within fintech or banking.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast‑paced, multi‑market environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Hands‑on attitude with a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Experience planning and executing B2B and consumer PR campaigns.
• Knowledge of media relations, press release writing, and crisis management.
• Ability to adapt messaging for different cultural contexts.
