Privacy Counsel – Data Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Privacy Counsel to join the Global Delivery Hero Data Protection Team at Glovo’s Barcelona office. You will provide proactive legal guidance on data protection, ensuring that business initiatives comply with global privacy regulations and support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on data protection matters under frameworks such as the GDPR.
• Deliver risk‑based privacy counsel for new products, initiatives and operational changes.
• Draft, negotiate and manage Data Processing Agreements, intra‑group transfer agreements and conduct privacy due diligence for third‑party providers and M&A transactions.
• Support data‑mapping activities, maintain records of processing activities and carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Develop, implement and maintain global privacy policies, notices and internal procedures.
• Prepare communications for the Management Board, supervisory board and business leadership.
• Conduct privacy maturity audits and oversee remediation efforts.
• Manage investigations and fine‑related proceedings with data protection authorities, including strategic mitigation planning.
• Monitor AI governance developments and contribute to responsible AI frameworks in line with emerging regulations.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years of proven experience in data protection or privacy law.
• Legal qualification (law degree or equivalent) with strong understanding of GDPR and other global privacy frameworks.
• Hands‑on, proactive collaborator able to work across multiple teams and jurisdictions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.
