Process Engineer Intern – Production

About the role

Mondelēz International is looking for motivated interns to join its Production Department as Process Engineers in Montornès del Vallès, Spain. The internship starts in November 2026 and lasts 12 months, with a stated compensation of 1,000 euros. Selection takes place in English because the work is done in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, quantify and categorize operational losses such as waste, downtime, rejects, rework and line inefficiencies.
• Monitor process KPIs (OEE, availability and quality) to spot deviations and negative trends.
• Propose solutions to root causes of losses, prioritized by impact and feasibility.
• Lead improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Centerlining, RCAs, SMED, 5S and Kaizen.
• Develop and update SOPs, work instructions and process parameters to reduce losses.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
• Train production staff on new procedures, GMP and continuous improvement tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably food or FMCG.
• Upper-intermediate English (B2 minimum).
• Knowledge of HACCP and industrial automation and process control.

Required skills

• Proficiency in office software.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt a plus), 5S, Kaizen, SMED, PDCA.
• Quality and food safety management systems (HACCP).
